Sofía Vergara has been robbed of three awards, but perhaps she could've won by playing the sexy Charlotte Bless in "The Paperboy." The role was intended for Sofía Vergara, but it went to Nicole Kidman because Sofía's pay demands were too high.
Though Sofía Vergara auditioned for the role with Bradley Cooper, who also rejected the role, director Lee Daniels said it was out of his budget to pay the Colombian actress what she was asking for. "The money fell out, just like with most independent films, and we had to start over," he told The Hollywood Reporter.
With the director's decision to give the role to Nicole Kidman, Sofía's countless fans were left without the opportunity see her share the big screen with Matthew McConaughey. The highest-earning television actress, according to Forbes magazine, will however appear in three major films this year: "Machete Kills," "Smurfs 2" and "Fading Gigolo."
